Our top four teams in college football remain the same, as everyone took care of business in Week 11. We are now rolling through the last of the regular season weeks and preparing for the conference championship showdowns and we’ve got our top four NCAA Football week 12 betting picks.

No. 1 Georgia knows it will play LSU for the SEC title. TCU moved on to the Big 12 Championship following last week’s win over Texas. And we are a week away from Michigan and Ohio State, and the winner moving on to the Big Ten title game.

NCAA Football Week 12 Betting Pick #1 – No.1 Georgia at No. 24 Kentucky (+22.5)

The bloom is a little off the Kentucky rose after losing last week to Vanderbilt, but they do get a Georgia team that could be looking past the Wildcats. For the top-ranked Bulldogs, their future is set. This game, of course, means everything in the national standings, but their SEC fate will be decided the first weekend of December.

Georgia won’t really have a letdown. Instead, the Wildcats will play well, control offensive drives, and keep this final score to within three touchdowns.

NCAA Football Week 12 Betting Pick #2 – No. 21 Illinois (+18) at No. 3 Michigan

Michigan will not get caught looking past the Illini and their trip to Columbus. This game is at home, they are too experienced and focused, and Illinois has been struggling. But will the Wolverines cover the large spread against one of the conference’s preseason favorites?

Illinois’ defense is very good, ignoring the last two weeks, and they will keep this from being a high-scoring game, which will keep the Michigan victory to around 14 points. Take the points.

NCAA Football Week 12 Betting Pick #3 – No. 8 USC (-2) at No. 12 UCLA

There are a lot of storylines heading into the battle of Los Angeles. It’s the championship of the city, which is always a fun game, but for the Bruins, they must rebound after last week’s bad loss to Arizona.

For USC, they are trying to stake its claim as the best team in the Pac-12, which was helped by Oregon’s loss last week. The UCLA offense is very good, but the Trojans overall are better, and they will win and cover at the Rose Bowl, clinching their spot in the Pac-12 Championship.

NCAA Football Week 12 Betting Pick #4 – No. 13 Utah at No. 6 Oregon (-3)

Because of Oregon’s loss to Washington last week, they are likely out of the College Football Playoff, and they now need a win over Utah to get into the Pac-12 Championship. If Oregon wins out, they go to Las Vegas. But if Utah wins out, they will play for the conference title.

It’s hard to see Oregon losing a second straight game at home. Utah’s offense is great but not enough to get past the Ducks. Go with Oregon and give the points.

NCAA Football Week 7 Betting Picks

Georgia had a near-miss in NCAA Week 5, and it dropped them out of the No. 1 ranking. In NCAA Week 6, the near-miss belonged to Alabama, and they, too, dropped out of the No. 1 ranking, putting Georgia back in the top spot.

Great team performances abound, as do great individual efforts. Pittsburgh’s Israel Abanikanda ran for 320 yards and six touchdowns, tying the ACC single-game record.

Also accounting for six touchdowns was Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud, who moved the Buckeyes into the No. 2 ranking with a big 49-20 win over Michigan State.

No. 3 Alabama at No. 6 Tennessee (+7.5)

We begin our slate of games with the displaced Alabama Crimson Tide going to Knoxville to take on the high-scoring offense of the Tennessee Volunteers. The Vols are scoring more than 46 points per game on the back of quarterback Hendon Hooker, and he and this offense will keep scoring against Alabama.

Nick Saban is hopeful that Bryce Young can play, but just how effective will he be? Alabama is likely to win this NCAA game, but Tennessee has the offense to keep it close and to cover the spread.

No. 10 Penn State (+7) at No. 5 Michigan

Two years ago, Penn State got the win at Michigan Stadium, but two years ago, Jim Harbaugh’s crew wasn’t at the top of the Big Ten. They are now, with the defending conference champs 3-0 in the Big Ten, even if they did just fail to cover the spread at Indiana.

Penn State hasn’t covered for two straight, looking uninspired in wins against Central Michigan and Northwestern. But this is Michigan, and they will get up for this one, the first of a tough gauntlet that has them playing Michigan, Minnesota, and Ohio State.

Penn State is up for it, and they will cover, even as the Wolverines hold on to win the game.

No. 8 Oklahoma State (+3.5) at No. 13 TCU

TCU nearly came up short last week at Kansas, needing late-game heroics to get past the Jayhawks and their backup quarterback. But they won, and they pushed against the spread – their first non-win against the spread this NCAA season.

Oklahoma State is easily the toughest test of the NCAA season for the Frogs, but they come into this game as underdogs, and that’s why we like them. They were dogs against Baylor, and the Cowboys won outright. And while we’re going to stop short of predicting a win on the moneyline for Oklahoma State, we do like them and the points.

NCAA Football Week 1 Betting Picks

NCAA football fans got a little taste of the season to come last weekend with a thriller in Dublin, Ireland, where Northwestern came from behind to beat Nebraska. Illinois, Florida State, and North Carolina all got easy wins, and Vanderbilt went out to Hawaii and got a 63-10 victory.

But that was only Week 0. This is now officially Week 1, and all 25 of the nation’s Top-25 teams are in action, beginning on Thursday at Oklahoma State and finishing up on Monday night with Clemson and Georgia Tech.

NCAA Football Week 1 Picks Against the Spread

West Virginia (+7.5) at No. 17 Pittsburgh – Thursday

This is the 105th playing of the Backyard Brawl, but just the first since 2011. So while history can’t tell us about these two specific sets of players, we do know that four of the last five meetings have been decided by four points or less.

It will be rocking in Pittsburgh, and the Panthers probably win this game, but they will fall short of covering the touchdown spread. Take the Mountaineers.

Colorado State at No. 8 Michigan (-30.5) – Saturday

Here are the numbers that matter to you. Last season Michigan was 11-3-0 against the spread and 5-1 when that spread was more than two touchdowns.

On the other side, Colorado State was just 4-8-0 against the spread, and they lost their final six games of the season ATS.

CSU is ranked right around 95 in the country. Michigan is eighth. This is going to be a bloodbath that has the Wolverines covering no later than the third quarter.

No. 11 Oregon (+17.5) at No. 3 Georgia – Saturday

Considering that the Bulldogs lost 15 players to the NFL this past season, putting them as more than a two-touchdown favorite against a very good Oregon team is quite the leap.

Georgia is still loaded with talent, but they are a far greater unknown than a lot of teams because of their huge roster turnover.

You may want to roll with the Bulldogs most of the NCAA season, but this week look for the Ducks to cover.

No. 5 Notre Dame at No. 2 Ohio State (-17) – Saturday

It’s another huge spread for a game that, on paper, looks much closer than 17 points. But we know what we have in Ohio State, and it’s an offense led by C.J. Stroud that is going to put up points at will.

Notre Dame’s situation is far less certain, and their key players – like quarterback Tyler Buchner – are far less experienced.

In November, you might take the Irish to cover this spread. Right out of the gate and in Columbus, look for the Buckeyes to cover.

The first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament saw its share of upsets, but as the Sweet 16 tips off, there are still plenty of great basketball teams remaining in the field and great games for us to place wagers.

Thursday – March 24

No. 4 Arkansas vs. No. 1 Gonzaga (-8.5)

Yes, the top-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs were pushed to the brink by Memphis and actually trailed at halftime before a furious second-half comeback. But they did make that comeback, and they are simply going to be too much for Arkansas.

The Razorbacks don’t have the same athleticism that Memphis does, and the going in this round is going to be easier for Gonzaga because of it. Look for the No. 1 seed to cover the spread and advance.

No. 11 Michigan (+5) vs. No. 2 Villanova

In San Antonio, four years after Villanova beat Michigan there to claim the National Championship, these two teams are back, meeting for just the fourth time in history.

Villanova got over on Michigan then, and they are likely to do it again on Thursday. But the one-time sixth-ranked Wolverines are enjoying their role as underdogs, and they will keep this game close. The Wildcats experience wins in the end but look for Michigan to play tough and cover.

Friday – March 25

No. 15 St. Peter’s (+12.5) vs. No. 3 Purdue

Would it be crazy to bet on St. Peter’s to beat Purdue outright and make it to the Elite Eight?

Yes. Yes, that would be crazy. But what isn’t crazy is to think that Cinderella, after knocking off Kentucky and Murray St., can play the Boilermakers tough.

The game is in Philadelphia, just down the road from the St. Peter’s campus, and thousands of fans who had never heard of St. Peter’s a week ago will be in the arena and pulling for the Peacocks.

Purdue is too much, and the Cinderella story ends, but it will be a good game, and St. Peter’s has an excellent chance to cover.

NCAA Men’s Sweet 16 Betting Picks

No. 11 Iowa State (+2.5) vs. No. 10 Miami

A year ago, Iowa State had just two wins and were completely shut out in Big 12 play. Now they have the fifth-best defense in the country, allowing just 88.5 points per 100 possessions, and they force turnovers at the fourth-best rate in the country.

Miami has three good scoring guards in Charlie Moore, Kameron McGusty, and Isaiah Wong, but the Hurricane defense is abysmal.

They give up an FG rate of 52.9%, which ranks 298th in the country. That Miami deficiency, combined with Iowa State’s great defense, will help the Cyclones cover this spread and possibly win outright.

For those of you (us) that thought finally we were going to avoid having to watch Alabama in the College Football Playoff, not so fast. ‘Bama is back in the CFP for the seventh time in eight seasons on the strength of a dominating win over Georgia to win the SEC.

The win was good enough, and Nick Saban’s history is decorated enough for the Crimson Tide to be the favorite to win the National Championship.

  • Alabama (+120)
  • Georgia (+140)
  • Michigan (+700)
  • Cincinnati (+1600)

Alabama has the best coach in the country, regularly the best roster in the country, and has quarterback Bryce Young, who is the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. Even though this was a disappointing season by Tuscaloosa standards, they are the favorite, and it’s easy to see why.

No. 1 Alabama (-14) vs. No. 4 Cincinnati – Cotton Bowl

The four teams that made it in did it without controversy. But the seeding of the four teams is not without argument. As good as Cincinnati has been this season, everyone wanted to be seeded first so they could play the Bearcats.

Alabama gets that honor, jumping from No. 3 to No. 1 because of their win over Georgia. As selection committee chair Gary Barta explained, “Not only did Alabama beat Georgia – the way they beat them. They controlled the game, pretty much from start to finish.”

Couldn’t Barta say the same thing about Michigan, who Alabama leapfrogged? In fact, you could say it, but without the “pretty much,” because Michigan’s 42-3 was every bit start to finish dominating win.

Saying that Alabama’s one win was more impressive than Michigan’s last two wins is questionable, but that’s what the committee did, and the Tide gets Cincinnati in the semifinal. However, they will have to do it without star wide receiver John Metchie III, who is out with a significant ACL injury.

No. 2 Michigan vs. No. 3 Georgia (-7.5) – Orange Bowl

If there was one knock on Georgia, it was wins over quality teams. They played lots of great football this season, but their schedule was without any top-10 teams. Until they faced No. 3 Alabama, and that didn’t go so well.

Now they get a team that has dominating wins over a pair of top-10 teams, Wisconsin and Ohio State. And Michigan just won the Big Ten with a blowout over Iowa, 42-3.

But we know that Georgia is still really good. Michigan still has Jim Harbaugh as its head coach, and his ability to win big games is still in doubt. And being runner-up in the SEC is still considered just as good as winning most other conferences.

And for all of those reasons, Georgia is more than a touchdown favorite to win their semifinal and set up a rematch with Alabama in the Championship Game.

It is a great weekend of college football, with four games taking place between top-25 teams. And that makes for another great weekend of college football betting.

These are our top picks for the NCAA Football Week 5, and any and all of them can be combined to make a solid top-25 parlay.

No. 8 Arkansas at No. 2 Georgia (-18.5)

We’ve been banging the Georgia drum since the season first kicked off and have been happy to lay the points on the Bulldogs each week this season. And taking Georgia has paid off, with them going 3-1 against the spread.

Not this week.

Arkansas is 4-0 against the spread and a legitimate top-10 team. They shouldn’t be this big of an underdog, and you shouldn’t expect Georgia to cover. The Razorbacks will probably lose, but they will be competitive from start to finish and cover in the end. Take the points.

No. 7 Cincinnati (-2.5) at No. 9 Notre Dame

Notre Dame is coming off its biggest win of the season and is a home underdog? Say it ain’t so.

NCAA Football Week 5 Parlay BetsCincinnati is very good, and they will push the Irish all game long. But the lack of respect for Notre Dame at home and as a top-10 team, no doubt, has ruffled some feathers. Look for Notre Dame to respond, much like they did last week, and win this game outright. Take Notre Dame and the points.

No 14. Michigan (-1) at Wisconsin

With the spread at just 1-point, this is essentially a pick’em game. And yes, Michigan hasn’t won at Wisconsin since 2001, when head coach Jim Harbaugh was playing the final season of his career as the backup quarterback in Carolina. But that 20-year streak will end this weekend.

Wisconsin’s defense will hold up well against the Michigan running game, but the Badgers will struggle to move the ball with a passing attack ranked near the bottom in the country. Michigan improves to 5-0 this week and goes to 4-1 against the spread.

No. 6 Oklahoma (-10.5) at Kansas State

The Wildcats actually have a two-game winning streak against the Sooners and have been good as home underdogs. Under coach Chris Klieman, they are 6-2 against the spread when picked to lose at home.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma began the season as a favorite to make the College Football Playoffs and have yet another Heisman-winning quarterback in Spencer Rattler. But their offense is a mess; they’ve posted three very unimpressive wins – Tulane, Nebraska, and West Virginia – and they will fail to cover the spread in Manhattan.

Take Kansas State and the points.

Top Five NCAA Football Teams To Bet In Week 13

Michigan Wolverines (-8) at Indiana Hoosiers

It has the making of a trap game. Michigan just beat Michigan State and has Ohio State on the horizon. But even though this isn’t a rivalry game, the Wolverines will continue to dominate.

Their last three wins have been by 34, 31, and 31 points. Expect them to keep rolling in this one and win big over Indiana and improve to 7-4 against the spread.

UCLA Bruins (+13) at USC Trojans

UCLA was terrible to start the season, but it has now won three of four Pac-12 games, and Chip Kelly’s job appears to be safe. The Bruins were beaten up pretty badly by Utah, but I expect a bounce back in the battle of Los Angeles.

The Bruins beat USC outright last year, and getting 13 points for this season’s battle is too much to pass up. USC drops to 6-6 ATS after this week’s tight cross-town rivalry.

Oklahoma State Cowboys (-7.5) at West Virginia Mountaineers

West Virginia has been up and down all season when it comes to performing against the spread at 4-5-1. And at home, the Mountaineers have covered the spread just once.

On the other side, Oklahoma State continues to provide great value at 8-2 ATS, which includes a 4-1 mark on the road. For that reason alone, lay the points and take the Cowboys.

Penn State Nittany Lions at Ohio State Buckeyes (-18.5)

Ohio State’s offense is one of the surest bets in the country, having topped the 50-point mark five times so far this season. Penn State will be the highest-ranked team they’ve faced so far, but the Buckeyes haven’t had a margin of victory below 24 points yet this season.

At 8-2 against the spread and cruising to a possible spot in the College Football Playoff, Ohio State keeps its foot on that gas and wins this game by at least three touchdowns.

Texas A&M Aggies (+13.5) at Georgia Bulldogs

Even though it has lost a game this season, Georgia is also eyeing the possibility of making it into the College Football Playoff. The Bulldogs have clinched the SEC East and have already punched their ticket for the conference title game but are banged up on offense. They may be in line for a bit of a letdown as they try and get healthy for postseason play.

Meanwhile, since losing to Alabama in October, the Aggies have been rolling, with four straight wins and a 30-6 thumping of South Carolina, the team that gave Georgia its lone loss. I don’t think Texas A&M has enough to win this game, but I do think it has an excellent chance to cover the spread. Take the points.
